Boston - Strong
On April 20th, Fowler High Precision President & CEO David Francis will do something he has never attempted before. He will put on his running clothes, tie his running shoes and he will set out to run the Boston Marathon. Along with 35,000 other runners David will start off in Hopkinton, Massachusetts and strive to finish the historic 26.2 mile race course into the heart of Boston.
This is David Francis’ first marathon. In fact it is his first organized foot race of any kind. Until he started training for the Boston Marathon, David Francis has never really been a runner at all! Which may make one wonder: “Why is he running the Boston Marathon?” The answer is simple - for charity.
In 2014 David signed on to do the marathon to raise money for the MassGeneral Hospital for Children’s Cancer Center. Along with his own contribution David Francis will be running to raise money via the contributions of friends, family members, business associates and other supporters to generate funds for pediatric cancer treatment and research.
David Francis’ run against cancer is a personal one and one close to heart of the company he leads. David is running in the memory of Fowler High Precision founder and namesake Fred V. Fowler Jr. and long time Fowler business associate Martin Luboviski of Product Engineering Corp., both who recently succumbed to the disease.
We at Fowler congratulate David Francis on his decision and wish him great success on his race. We’ll be keeping everyone informed of his training progress and following him the day of the race. Many of us here at Fowler are contributing to this important cause and we’re offering our precision partners, business associates and customers an opportunity to as well. If you’d like to encourage David on his attempt at the 2015 Boston Marathon and make a contribution to treat and fight pediatric cancer, please click on the Crowdrise link below.
Thank you
Team Fowler
